We are a team of scientists, DESIGNERS, and PRACTITIONERS WORKING TO BUILD HEALTHY COMMUNITIES TOGETHER.

People’s Health Solutions provides consulting services to health and social service providers, government, coalitions, and policy and advocacy organizations. We believe in the healing power of democratic solutions that involve staff and community in integral ways. Our inclusive approaches to problem-solving are rooted in the histories and visions of organizations and communities.

If I define my neighbor as the one I must go out to look for, on the highways and byways, in the factories and the streets, on the farms and in the mines — then my world changes.

Our Values

Commitment to Excellence

We uphold high standards of excellence through our philosophy of doing “whatever it takes” to achieve ambitious goals. We deliver services of the highest quality and value through our commitment to learning and professional integrity.

Mutual Support

We prioritize building meaningful relationships, sharing knowledge and resources to enhance our shared impact. In a world of rapid change and growing inequality, our collective action is essential to building healthy communities.

Health AND Wellbeing

We commit to creating the balance that is needed to do our work with joy. The healthy bodies, minds, and relationships that we cultivate for ourselves are what enable us to co-create health and wellbeing in the communities we serve.

SOCIAL Equity

We practice equity through action, seeking to support social equity through our commitment to participatory leadership, pay transparency, and peer education. We center lived experience and community voices in all of our work.

Areas of Impact

People-Centered Health Care

Health systems that are people-centered attend to our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. They also consider the “upstream” factors that constrain health-related choices. We have supported primary care and mental health integration efforts in multiple states and conducted federally-compliant community health needs assessments for hospitals and clinics throughout California.

Housing and economic Stability

Housing instability and homelessness are consequences of deeper issues ranging from economic insecurity to domestic violence to racism. We partner with diverse stakeholders to identify solutions to prevent and disrupt these cycles. Through our Research and Training Institute, we are building curricula to enable more organizations to offer peer support to clients at critical turning points.

Health Equity

People have a human right to live in dignity and freedom, regardless of their race, gender, or sexual orientation. Collective action or silence will make the difference between a climate of discrimination and violence and one of inclusion and safety. We work with partners to generate understanding of what drives health inequities in our communities and to support cross-sector collaboration to achieve change.

Community SafetY AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION

Interpersonal violence is a key public health issue that demands immediate attention. We believe that public safety systems should be survivor-centered and community-driven. We partner with organizations to explore drivers of domestic violence and human trafficking and to support collective action. We practice compassionate facilitation and collective leadership to uplift voices of survivors.
