South Los Angeles Critical Dialogue
Neighborhood history is vital to our mission of building health communities: We can’t plan for the future without understanding the past. Together with community leaders in South LA and members of National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation, Dr. King developed a framework known as Critical Dialogues. This is an engagement tool for bringing community leaders and organizations together to create shared understanding of social issues of timely importance to the health of our communities, such as racism and gender justice. This event was part of a three-year series of monthly community dialogues and mental health provider trainings organized by Dr. King during her employment as Manager of Community Engagement and Behavioral Health Analytics at Wellnest (formerly Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic).
